Wingfoil in Tarifa, the wind capital, with Manuel and Victoria and tested Duotone gear. Learn from scratch or rent your kit, even on lighter wind days. You’ll Never Ride Alone.
Wingfoil combines an inflatable wing that you hold in your hands with a foil board that lifts above the water.
It is more intuitive than kitesurfing during the early stages and works even in light winds, which has made it increasingly popular among people who already practice kitesurfing, windsurfing or sailing.

The Strait of Gibraltar channels the wind and helps create particularly favorable conditions for wind sports in Tarifa.
Valdevaqueros: areas with more sheltered water depending on conditions
Los Lances: space to ride and continue progressing
“We still teach every lesson ourselves, just as we did on our first day in 2010.”
— Manuel and Victoria, founders of Subcielo Kite School
IKO and FAV certified, with more than 20 years of experience on the water in Tarifa and no intermediaries between you and your instructor.

At Subcielo, you can choose between two ways to enjoy wingfoil in Tarifa, depending on your experience and your goals.

Rent
If you already ride independently and simply need quality equipment to enjoy Tarifa’s conditions, you can rent the equipment that best suits the day’s wind.
It is not necessary, but if you already have experience in a wind sport, you will learn faster.
Wingfoil does not use lines or a bar: the wing is held directly with your hands, which makes the initial learning process simpler.
Yes, if you already have the necessary level, you can rent wingfoil equipment directly from Subcielo.
It is one of the most accessible wind sports to start with: the wing is controlled intuitively with your hands and there are no lines to manage as with kitesurfing. With proper instruction, most students can progress quickly.
Wingfoil can be practised in less wind than other wind sports thanks to the foil, making it a good option even on lighter-wind days. During lessons, we adapt the wing size to the conditions of the day so you can ride safely.
We recommend wingfoil from around 12–14 years old, provided the student has basic swimming skills. We assess each case according to the student’s physical condition.
Tarifa has windy conditions throughout much of the year, but the best time can vary depending on the conditions of the day, the spot and the student’s level.
If you have never practised wingfoil before, start with a wingfoil course so you can learn safely. If you already ride independently, wingfoil rental gives you direct access to the equipment without lessons.
